SUSAN (SUZN) CHEQUIS
March 13, 1943 - January 27, 2020
Susan (Suzn) Chequis (nee Calvin), after a courageous year long battle with
Cancer, mom passed away peacefully on January 27, 2020. Predeceased by her
husband Ron; parents Seward & Kay Calvin and son-in-law Walt Wade. She is
survived by her children Sherrie (Stuart), Barb and Miriam; brother Glen (Lizzie);
grandchildren Nicole (Reyal), Lisa (Pete), Kathleen, Daniel, Jennifer (Evan), John,
Amy (Eric); Great Grandchildren Waylon, Autumn, Cynthia, Caleb, Allie, Ruby
and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Born in Seattle on March 13, 1943, Suzn liked to dance and play the flute. In 1958
the family moved up to Canada and settled in Haney, BC. It was not long after
when Sue discovered the art of hair design where she excelled, winning many
competitions. In the 70’s & 80’s she took her talent to Elspeth’s Hair Salon in
Valley Fair Mall. Sue then moved on to a very gratifying career being the hair
dresser at Maple Ridge Hospital’s Creekside and Baillie House.
Sue loved good food and socializing, enjoyed family get togethers, going to
movies, travelling, fishing and her morning walks, and had a wonderful smile that
could light up a room.
A special thank you to Dr. Dugdale, Dr. Yu, all the Doctors and Nurses at Ridge
Meadows Hospital, the Oncology department, Home Care, and all the staff and
volunteers at McKenney Creek Hospice for the care and attention you gave mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society. No Service by request, a celebration of life to be held in the near future.

Our thoughts are with Suzn and family. We lived in the same neighbourhood as Suzn and Ron in Pitt Meadows. They were the most kind and lovely people one could have as friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace, dear Suzn, we will always carry you near to our heart. Gert and Ebba Schovsbo

My thoughts and prayers for Susan and family. Susan and Ron were our next door neighbours in Pitt Meadows for about 25 years. We couldn't of had better people living next door. We shared many laughs over the years. RIP Susan, you were a trooper and a gem.
