It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Randi Hood at the age of 74. She passed peacefully in her sleep on December 22, 2024, and was promoted to heaven to be with her Savior and all who have gone before her.

Sarah was born in Vancouver and lived in the lower mainland close to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose unwavering love and care created a lasting legacy for her family. Sarah spent her life taking care of her family and working full time for many years. She worked in many different positions, finishing her career in accounting and office administration at Allied Hose & Fittings.

She enjoyed spending time with her family travelling, camping, fishing, gardening, and cruising around the world with her husband Glen and friends. Sarah volunteered a lot of her time in the community and at her church, always lending a helping hand to those in need. She was instrumental in helping to start the Celebrate Recovery program in several churches in the lower mainland.

She is survived by her husband Glen Hood, her children Tricia Scott, David Hood, her adopted son and nephew Dennis Lewendon their spouses, Richard Scott, Jody Hood, Raelene Lewendon. Her grandchildren Kaylee Elia (Alex), Evan Scott (Tori), Joshua Hood, Anna Scott, as well as Brittnie Jacklin (Robbie), Jaden Lewendon, Taya Lewendon (Dayton), Chase Lewendon, and great-grandson Zane Jacklin who were the pride and joy of her life.

Sarah was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Her legacy of love, kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

We are thankful for the time we had with her and look forward to when we are reunited with her in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held at LifeSpring Church 3970 Gladwin Rd Abbotsford, BC on Saturday January  25th at 11:00am

Sarah.... always reaching out. She kept our "ladies lunch " group together messaging, arranging and despite frequently having to " rearrange" she kept a gentle spirit.
When I could no longer attend because of health issues she would often call, sometimes sending a meal to me.
"Moussaka" Sarah! Fond memories.
With prayers for all family and friends,
Dianne

Dear Glen and family, Sarah was a part of so many lives, including mine. She was a lovely lady with a big nurturing heart. She was so kind and generous to me and I will never forget that. She touched my life like a big sister in the Lord. I remember the times we had growing up in our faith with other ladies learning the ropes of ministry to others and learning how to spread our wings. I will always cherish the generosity and thoughtfulness of our trip to Saddleback Church and the fellowship we had there. Even though I didn't see her in the latter years, Glen, I thought of you and her often. I pray for you and the family that you will get through this time of grief with many loving memories and knowing that God gifted you with this wonderful partner in life who has been a blessing to so many. God bless you Glen, my sincere love and prayers are going out to you and your family. With love, Shannon.

Dear Glen,
We were genuinely saddened to hear of your loss of Sarah last December.
Thinking back on all of our leadership connections because of Celebrate Recovery, one of our first recollections was Sarah's tremendous exuberance and passion for the Ministry of CR.
You were a dynamic duo in the trenches for Christ and the personal desire to make Him known.
We were always encouraged to see Sarah’s dedication punctuated by her tenacity whenever an obstacle or ministry challenge would appear. Like all power couples, we enjoyed your witty ”thrust and parry” of longtime marital bliss.
She will always be remembered for her kindness and magnetic smile which lit up every room she ever entered.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend the Celebration of Life as we are wintering down south.
We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of Dear Sarah.

I've known Sarah for many years, through Church and then Celebrate Recovery. She was so genuine in her love of the Lord, her family and friends and even people she had just met. She was warm and friendly towards everyone and willing to listen to us all.
She was the best example of how we should all be walking this life.
I know she will be forever missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
My Deepest condolences, Cathie

I am at a loss for words. Sarah will always be a beautiful part of my life. I always looked forward to her hugs, love, giggle and visits. Starting a CR group with Sarah and Glen was challenging and rewarding, a great time of fellowship and leadership. I remember meeting them for the first time at Missions Fest at a CR booth where they were recruiting leaders. There was an instant connection and a wonderful friendship and deep love grew over the years. Sarah, I miss you so much. I love you even more 💞. We will have a visit when I come Home. Big Hug.

Glen, you have all been on our hearts and in our prayers these past few weeks, and will continue to be. We love you💞. Unfortunately we won't be able to be with you all for Sarah's Celebration of Life. Will there be a live feed link? We pray for the arms of our Saviour to carry you, hold you and bring you unspeakable peace.

On behalf of Janice, Dave, and everyone at Lifeline Outreach Society, we want to extend our heartfelt condolences to Glen, Sarah’s beloved husband, and the entire Hood family. It is an honor to stand with you and remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, Sarah Hood.
Sarah was truly a light in this world—a woman of steadfast faith whose love for the Lord shone brightly in all that she did. She had a heart that mirrored Christ’s love, and her unwavering devotion to Him was evident in her actions, her words, and the way she welcomed everyone with open arms. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a new acquaintance, Sarah had a way of making you feel like family. Her kindness and hospitality reflected her deep desire to serve others, as Jesus taught.
Her steadfastness was an anchor to so many. Sarah had a quiet strength that carried her through life’s challenges, always trusting in God’s plan and finding peace in His promises. Her love for Glen and her family was nothing short of inspiring. She cherished every moment spent with those she held dear, offering wisdom, encouragement, and an abundance of unconditional love.
As we remember Sarah, we are reminded of the words from Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This scripture embodies Sarah’s faith—her hope in the Lord carried her through every season of life, and now, she soars in His presence, free from pain and full of eternal joy.
Glen, we want you to know that you are deeply loved and supported. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers during this time of loss. Sarah’s life was a testimony of grace, love, and faithfulness, and her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Sarah’s spirit lives on in the memories we cherish and the love she shared so freely. May her example encourage all of us to walk closer with the Lord and to live with the same welcoming spirit and steadfast faith that she embodied so beautifully.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Janice and Dave

Oh my gosh, words cannot express how we feel at her loss. I’ll miss her knock at the door, our long conversations about nothing and everything, her non judgmental attitude her grace and undying love for Christ.
It is with joy I know that she now is celebrating her reunion with our Lord and Savior. Live eternally with HIM until we meet again. Keep the coffee hot for us.

I first met Sarah over 25 years ago the year after we launched Celebrate Recovery at what was then known as Abbotsford Christian Assembly. From day one she brought heart love and passion to the work of ministry. She was sold out for Jesus and fully committed to Celebrate Recovery. She always opened her home to welcome all of us and serve us. She loved well and fed not only peoples bodies but also their Spirit. The CR family globally, her friends and most especially her family will miss her presence and her laughter. She had a sassy sense of humour and could command a room. She was the hub of her family and enjoyed going to Hawaii and to the trailer in Washington She doted on her grandchildren and spoke of them with such love and pride.

Sarah. Your presence was always valued and will be missed by all who knew and loved you. See you on the other side.

I met Glen & Sarah as part of the NW Celebrate Recovery (CR) leadership team in 2010, my wife & I would encounter them at many of the CR events over the years, including the CR Summit in Orange County California several times. They were very committed to the ministry & we had great conversations & fellowship together. My most favorite time was when the NW CR Inside team had an June, 2019 event in Arlington, Washington, I was so pleased that Glen & Sarah attended & had a heart for the incarcerated. Now Jesus has greeted Sarah & said to her, 'well done sister Sarah, welcome home'!
