It is with great sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Robert William McKitrick. Our world is forever changed.

Bob passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at home after fighting an unrelenting battle with Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years.

His wife, Winnie, lost her husband, best friend and life partner of 55 years.

Bob’s daughter, Karen, and Bob’s son, Kelly, lost an amazing dad. His grandchildren, Brandon and Connor, had the opportunity to grow up with their Poppa cheering them on. Bob also leaves behind his sister, Sue, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob worked as a residential contractor who designed and built many beautiful homes in the lower mainland.

Bob was an Honorary Pitt Meadows Firefighter and served his community for many years.

Bob loved fishing and the outdoors, family time, traveling, all sports and playing cards. Bob had the heart of a warrior who loved his family. He loved a good story and always wanted you to make the best of everything. Bob always worked hard no matter what. Bob was always brave and knew he was loved and will be in our hearts and minds until the end of time.

We will miss you so much.

My Uncle Bob was my godfather, the man who introduced my father to my mother, and a man that was kind and supportive. He was a man's man, a man who loved his family, which he prioritized ahead of everything else. He enjoyed great food, the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones. I am very happy for the time, laughs, and memories together as a family that I was able to share with My Uncle. I miss you very much Uncle Bob, and you will always be with us in our hearts.

My first memory of Bob was when I started my first job as a Secretary. Bob worked at a firm on the same floor. He was a tall guy who, when
seen, had his shirt sleeves rolled up and a shy smile. I left that job and asked my friend Winnie if she would be interested in taking it. She did
and the rest is history. A long love story was the result along with a son, daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. I always admired the
respect they showed each other and as Bob's illness progressed, the care Winnie gave him. It is always sad to lose your best friend and life's
partner but the many memories will soon help fill the hole in your heart and a little smile when you reminisce.

I am so lucky to have had such a caring brother with a great sense of humour. We grew up together and he
was the “cool guy”. Always fun to hang out with and drove cool cars, well at least they were cool to me. I remember when Bob
and Winnie started dating and I thought it was so great to have another girl in the house. Winnie and Bob married and then it was
really exciting when Karen and Kelly arrived. I always remember my mom saying, “You can tell when Bob’s family arrives from a mile away
from the noise and laughter”!
I have many fond memories of family gatherings at their place. He was a great host and made
The best eggnog drink. Over the years watching him, I was always impressed by his passion for life even when it was tough. Bob, you were
one of the Good Guys!
I will always miss and love you.
