It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricki Sterne on July 7th, 2025, at 73 years old.
She is survived by her two children, Noel and Benjamin, as well as three grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha, and Nicole.
Born October 1st, 1952, to Albert and Norma Mooradian, she grew up spending time between Alberta and British Columbia. She went on to become a nurse, after which she settled in BC permanently.
Two of her strongest suits were her sense of humor, and her love for her friends. Whether remembering TV quotes with her kids, or hearing what they came up with, laughter was an important part of life.
She may have had a small circle, but that's the way she liked it. The friends she had knew she loved them, and that love was to be treasured.
Cross-stitch and later loom knitting became hobbies, and it was common for her to take requests for various items from touques to socks to decorations.
Even as long term health issue developed, she asked as little as possible of those around her. Even as the end drew near, she still encouraged her youngest to keep making time for himself over her.
Christmases were always special, even when things were tight. She always made sure there was enough.
As per her request, there will be no formal services.

Ricki Sterne was a very special person. She lived her life with humor and sensitivity, especially in difficult situations. Creative persuits were her passion and her therapy especially when facing challenges and heartbreak such as; loss of family and friends.
I have loved Ricki since I met her 35 or so years ago and she helped me to survive hard times and the challenges of being a single parent. She has loved me without question and I will always cherish my memories of her and remember her with great fondness. Rest in peace my dear friend!
