It is with great sadness that the family and friends announce the passing of Raymond Joseph Smith of Maple Ridge on June 30, 2022. He was in his 73rd year. Ray worked for most of his life as a longshoreman. He was a kind and generous soul who treated his friends like family. 

Ray was the beloved partner of Karen Kelsall. He was a loving father to Jeremy (Stacey) Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Chantelle Smith, and stepfather to Bryan Hunt, Krystine Kelsall, and Brittany Kelsall. He especially cherished his time with his grandchildren. Ray will be mourned by his sister, Carlin (Maurice) Hayden. He joins his brother Jim on an extended trip to the lake.

A small celebration of life will be held when the family is able. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Royal Canadian Legion in his honour.
