Penny Louise Hayden née Hartford peacefully passed away Friday August 12th at Baillie house in Maple Ridge.  

Penny was born on January 10th 1948 in Hillcrest Alberta to her beloved parents John and Bertha Hartford and siblings Edward, Donald, Vivian and Edna (all predeceased) and many surviving nieces and nephews. Penny had 2 sons, Robert and Micheal Hayden who unfortunately predeceased her in 2003 and 2012 respectively.

She will be lovingly missed by her daughter in law Jullie Hayden and grandsons Andrew (Amber),Joshua, granddaughters Samantha and Alexandra, and great grandchildren Addisyn,

Andrew Jr. Jaysen and George, and all of her loving extended family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our loving and forever cheeky Gam Gam. 

Loved by many for her tenacious attitude, vivacious nature and giving heart - she is truly one of a kind. People naturally gravitated towards her, 'holding court" in her apartment complex office/foyer with all her neighbours flocking to have their turn. She led a life of entertaining and fun, going on "wildly fun girl road trips" with her best friend Cherry, playing cards with family and friends alike and generally being that "go-to " person. She was a fixture in many people's lives that cannot ever be replaced or recreated. 

We wish to extend a very special thank you to Penny's close friend Judy, who was instrumental these last few years in helping to care for Penny and being a tremendous support to all of us.
