I had the privilege to support Pearl before and after her knee replacements. When I arrived, she always looked beautiful, well kept, ready for my visit. She was very aware of what she needed, to make sure she gave herself sufficient time to prepare herself for whatever she was going to do-so when with her she was calm, present, fully available. She accepted her situation peacefully never complaining of pain, but instead just stating if she had discomfort in a steady voice. She was incredibly gracious and took time to write beautiful notes. She shared many stories, and even though she described some difficult times, she did not dwell on them, instead focussed on her present situation for which she was incredibly grateful. Pearl was a wonderful human being whom chose to live her life with great care and grace. I feel very lucky to have spent this time with her.

Growing up in Toronto meant that we only saw our Windsor relatives infrequently… but I do remember a few of our visit to Currie Rd to see the Taylors. I remember Aunt Pearl as kind, hospitable woman. This past decade or so, social media has allowed me to watch Aunt Pearl live a full, healthy life as the beautiful woman that she was…. and always with that gorgeous smile. She was more inspiring to me than she’ll ever know. Heartfelt condolences to all my Taylor cousins, and families … may Aunt Pearl rest in sweet peace. 💔

Pearl was such a good friend and mentor, as she was always positive and encouraging. She was a long-time member of our Catholic Women's League and was President for a couple of years. Pearl played a significant role in creating the Book of Life for all of our deceased CWL members. She stepped up to the plate when we needed catechism teachers. Her dedication to our church was so special as she was so loving and kind to everyone.

Growing up with our large families was always fun. We the Grondin’s, were very close to our Aunt Pearl and our cousins. We did not have a lot of money, but were always together in projects and support of each other. As kids we just had fun and have good memories from our childhood being together. I was lucky to keep in contact with my Aunt over the years. And will miss her cards and letters to keep in touch. We will all miss her.

Aunt Pearl,
You will be missed in this world by all those that knew you. You lived life centered by your family and your faith, you overcame struggles with dignity, grace and poise. I was inspired to have an in depth conversation with you in Windsor many years ago, you provided a refreshing perspective and outlook I found captivating. I trust you are at eternal peace and rest surrounded by those that left before you. May God Bless your entire family at this very trying time.
Love Jim Louisette Arleigh and Jackson Dean
