It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Diane McGowan nee McConnell on March 14, 2026. She passed away quietly at the age of 90.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Ricky (Katie), Michael (Camille), Carri (David) and Jo-Anne (Craig). She was a proud grandmother to Jeffrey (Amanda), Bradley, and Danielle (Nate), and a cherished great-grandmother to Scottie and Francesca.

She was known for her caring nature, offering support, laughter, and warmth to those around her. Her sense of humour brought laughter at family gatherings, and her loyalty to those she loved never wavered. She was also known for her strong will—often stubborn, but always genuine—and never afraid to speak her mind. She had an incredible memory for people and their stories, often recalling details and moments that others had long forgotten. 

Family and friends will remember her as someone who lived with heart, honesty, and resilience. Her presence will be missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honour her memory by spending time with loved ones and sharing stories that keep her legacy alive.
