Martin Lewis Johnston
September 6, 1953 to January 27, 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martin Johnston. Marty passed surrounded by his family in the afternoon of January 27th.
Marty was a resident of Surrey for the last 20 years and professionally was a lumber mill worker. He also wrote poetry and loved taking photographs of family. Marty genuinely cared about people and would help anyone in need. His sense of humour was undeniable. Marty was conscientious of ethically hunting and fishing, and enjoyed playing board games with friends.
Marty was predeceased by his mother and father, Lewise & Henry, brothers Leslie, Edward & Jack, and the love of his life and spouse, Shirley. Survived by his siblings Mary, David, and Charlie, as well as his daughter, nieces and nephews.
He was greatly loved and is equally missed.

My handsome and goofy uncle Marty. We’ll miss you so much. We’ll miss your visits, your laugh and your bear hugs. Rest easy with auntie Shirley now. We love you to the moon. xo

I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley and Marty in Surrey BC 2004-2008. They brought such love and acceptance to myself and my daughter where we lived in the same apartment building. I will remember them both dearly in my heart ❤ Hugs Christine.
