In loving Memory of Marilyn Parent 

Marilyn Parent (formerly Crockett nee Ward) passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on October 7, 1936, in Vancouver, she grew up in Kitsilano where she met and married George Crockett in 1957 and had 4 children. Marilyn was a woman of incredible strength, kindness, and heart. 

A true testament to her spirit, Marilyn was remarkably hardworking, continuing to work until the age of 80. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was an amazing baker, and everyone looked forward to her famous Nanaimo bars. She was well-known for her "doorstep deliveries," always dropping by her family and friend's houses with treats and a warm smile. She was truly the kindest and most thoughtful person, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children: Gary (Majka), Sandy (Scott), Sue (Gary), Debbie (Ray) and many nieces and nephews. She was the proud grandmother of Dillon (Keila) Cody (Lyndsay) Grant (Ayla), Robyn (Spenser), and step grandchildren Michelle, Erik and Fina.as well as a cherished great-grandmother to six with another one on the way. She is now reunited with those who passed before her, including her grandson Darrell, her sister Irene, her brother Bill and first husband George and 2nd husband Jack Parent.

Marilyn’s legacy of love, generosity, and homemade treats will be missed terribly by all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts forever.  No service at this time.
