On July 2, we said goodbye to our beloved Leisa. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. As some of her favourite songs by Elton John played, we shared stories, remembered the wonderful moments she gave us, and said our final goodbyes with both laughter and tears.
Leisa is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron; her son, Ethan; her daughter, Devin; her brother, David; and her sister, Sherri.
Leisa was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose love was constant and unwavering. As a dedicated and loving mom, she was always there to offer support, encouragement, and unconditional love. She never missed a sporting event and could always be found cheering proudly from the sidelines through every season and every milestone. She had a remarkable way of making people feel cared for, whether through a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or simply being there when she was needed most. Her kindness, generosity, and love touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
From her daughter, Devin:
Mom, thank you for being so present in every stage of my life. You were always there to hold me, to listen, to encourage me, and to give the kind of advice only a mother can. You celebrated every milestone, comforted me through every challenge, and filled my childhood with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Because of you, I always knew I was deeply loved.
You were the very best mother a daughter could ever ask for. I am endlessly grateful for every moment we shared and for the love you gave so freely. I will carry you with me in everything I do and love you with all my heart, forever.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
From her Son, Ethan:
My mom was the kind of person who made everyone around her feel loved. She was endlessly supportive of my sister and I in everything we chose to do, whether it was sports or any new challenge we took on. Her encouragement gave us confidence, and her warmth brought life, laughter, and joy to every family gathering and celebration. Her love and vibrant spirit will always be a part of who we are, and she will be deeply missed every day.

Ron, Devin and Ethan, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
It's hard to believe Leisa is no longer with us, however her vivacious, loving, and friendly spirit will endure within us. Our relationship began as colleagues back in the '80s working at RSVP Reservations. The good times that followed are too numerous to recount, we all matured, had families and became an extended family. Those close to her will have their own special memories and recollections. One of mine involves sports with which we shared a fierce competitive attitude. Leisa was a terrific athlete, whether it was softball, wallyball, bowling or bonko 😉, it was inspiring to be her teammate. I witness that sporting passion in her wonderful children, Devin and Ethan. Though our gatherings lessened through the years, time seemed not to have passed when we got together. My heart is broken; I will forever miss you.

I am so very sorry for your loss of your beautiful wife and mother; thank you for the sharing of your most loving and personal sentiments written about Leisa. I feel so lucky to have known Leisa. She truly was an inspiration as a mom and and also as a volunteer in the community; so many benefited from the work she did in the schools and in the youth sports community. We thank her for this. I will cherish her legacy of warmth, friendship and her sense of humor too, she was funny. So glad to have known and become friends over the years with your mom; she will always always be remembered for the wonderful human being she was. So much love to all of you. Our hearts are with you and the rest of your extended family as you remember and love.

Leisa was my aunt Terry Cheremy’s best friend since childhood. I believe Terry was only about 10 yrs old when my mom had me at 17yrs old. I remember when Terry would be babysitting me, Leisa would be with Terry helping her out, keeping me entertained. So I have known Leisa my whole life, but I wound not have seen her often as my mom and I moved to Victoria. I did see her durning Hannah’s 1st birthday and other birthday over the years. I met Ethan and Devin when we were visiting Terry, Louie, and Hannah for family celebrations when Hannah was younger, and Leisa’s kids and my kids were much younger. All the kids playing in the basement playing video games with the big screen. I remember Leisa to always be very kind and asking how I am.
Two years ago she bought my calendar and cards supporting my art very small business. Always complementing me on my creativity.
I just want to send my blessings to Ron, Ethan, Devin, and Leisa’s family my condolences. I am truly sorry for your loss. Leisa was a beautiful, thoughtful human. May Leisa be in a peaceful deep sleep. 🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏
