June (Hamilton) Rodgers passed away on Feb 29th, 2024 after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
June was born on June 30th, 1948 to Betty & Eric Hamilton in New Westminster, BC.
She spent most of her life growing up and then raising her own family in Maple Ridge, where she built a rich tapestry of memories and lifelong relationships. After retiring, June settled in the beautiful Sunshine Coast with her beloved husband Dale, where they enjoyed their golden years together.
She spent her early professional years at Hyack Air, followed by memorable years at Salmon’s Transfer, and then finally owning and operating Black Bear Brewing in Maple Ridge.
Beyond her professional pursuits, June found joy in crocheting, a passion she generously shared with her family, friends & acquaintances through handmade hats, scarves, blankets and much more. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she knew.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put others before herself. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. June was a force of nature—feisty, independent, and caring, with a wonderful sense of humor.
June was predeceased by her parents, Betty (2020) & Eric (2003). She is survived by her loving husband Dale, her sister Brenda (Kevin) Williams, Daughter Lisa (Rob) Henderson & Son Shane (Jodie) Marshall, a grandson she loved dearly Quinton, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
