It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Joshua (Josh) Eugene Rideout on December 26 , 2022 at the age of 40.Josh passed away suddenly at his residence in Maple Ridge , BC. Josh was predeceased by his Mother Sonia Erdmann , Brother Anthony Rideout (Tony) , Sister Tessa Erdmann , Grandparents Ileen Rideout and Eugene Rideout , Aunt Anne McCallum and Uncle Russ McCallum.

Josh was survived by his father Paul Rideout of Fredericton NB , Sister Lisa Paul (Jake) of Carrolls Crossing N.B , Brother Dakota Martin of Vancouver BC , Sister Laura Erdmann (Angello) of BC , Sister Kelly Gates (Esha) of Alberta , Niece Kimberly Gates (Todd) of Fredericton NB , Amanda Gates (Brittney) of Oromocto NB , Mya McConnell of BC , Nephews Anthony Gates-Sharpe of Carrolls Crossing NB , Nicholas Erdmann of BC , Conner McConnell of BC , 4 Great Nieces and Nephews Cash  ,Jaxon , Harper-Leigh , and Paisley all of Fredericton NB , Cousins Robyn McCallum (Chris) her daughter Kate of BC and Andrew McCallum (Renee) and his son Thomas of  Ottawa , Ontario.

Josh was known to have the biggest heart ,he helped many people who suffered from Addiction , Mental Health and Homelessness. He worked at the Salvation Army Shelter in Maple Ridge BC. Josh was also the best cook , he enjoyed cooking for anyone and everyone ,he worked at various Restaurants and Pubs in Fredericton as a Red Seal Cook over the years , more than anything Josh loved his family , as much pain and hurt he held inside, he put a smile on his face and continued to help as many people as he could who were fighting and struggling. Josh grew up watching his Father play guitar and singing ,later on in life he learned to play and was given his fathers guitar to enjoy, he also liked to hang out with his friends and go on adventures. He was always smiling and joking , Josh has touched the lives of many people in so many ways, he didn't like to see anyone struggle and would do whatever he could to help them , he seen the best in everyone he met. He will be sadly missed in the Community as well as his Family he leaves behind as he takes his Spirit Journey. Rest Easy Josh ,you will never be forgotten and forever loved.

A special Thank You to Kelly Gates and Robyn McCallum for helping with arrangements during this difficult time, His friends in Maple Ridge who have celebrated Josh's life as well as the Salvation Army Shelter in Maple Ridge. His sponsor Josh, thank you for reaching out, you were important to him. Josh will be cremated and brought back to Fredericton NB where he will rest with his Mother , Brother , and Sister. A service will take place at the Smythe Street Cathedral at a later date and will be posted on Facebook.

I still can't believe I'm planning your service and your gone..so many things I want to tell you little brother..like how much I miss you and how special you were to me..im heartbroken without you...I hope your at peace with your mom...Tony and Tessa and all our family...Miss you so much down here..I wish I could of helped you more with your struggles..Love you always and forever my towtwin

I’ll never forget the day I walked into a mutual friends place here in Duncan and there sitting on the couch was a blast from the past, the one and only Josh Rideout. 15 yrs had past since we had seen each other so It took me a second to figure out who you were…..that was until you smiled that cheeky smile of yours and asked me where my tiara was!!! The thing I will remember you most for, is the love you had for your brother Tony. I can only hope that my kids grow up to have that kind of love for each other. RIP smiley boy and trust that I’ll think of you everytime I wear a tiara!!
