In Loving Memory of Jason Lawton Hoover – July 18, 1978 – April 30, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, son, son-in-law and father, Jason Hoover, who left this world far too soon at the age of 46 on April 30, 2025, in Maple Ridge, BC.

Jason was born in Augusta, Georgia, and raised across Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. His adventurous spirit carried him far and wide, ultimately leading him to make his home in beautiful British Columbia for the past 11 years. There, he lived alongside his wife—his best friend, greatest love, and partner in every sense of the word—continuing to inspire all who knew him.

A man of many talents, Jason embraced diverse roles throughout his life: a compassionate nursing assistant, a dedicated credit officer, a persuasive salesman, and a driven businessman. Yet, beyond all these accomplishments, he was known most for his kindness and selflessness, always putting the needs of others before his own. His heart was larger than any challenge he faced.

Jason had an incredible sense of humor and was one of the most gifted storytellers you could ever meet. With his quick wit and playful spirit, he could brighten the darkest day and bring laughter to all around him.

He lived life fully and fearlessly, finding joy in the great outdoors and adventure—whether surfing the ocean waves, racing dirt bikes, boxing, snowboarding, or skiing down a mountain. A true free spirit, he was always seeking deeper truths and loved sharing his knowledge with everyone he met.

His musical soul was beautiful and pure. His singing and guitar playing filled homes and hearts with warmth and joy. Animals adored him just as much as people did—he loved and cared deeply for many throughout his life, including Rascal, Shera, Dakota, and Binky Bear, to name just a few.

Jason is survived by his devoted wife, Olga Torres, their cherished bunny Binky Bear, his two beloved sons, Blake Hoover and Bryce Hoover, his loving parents, Lawton Hoover and Bobbie Hoover, his sister Shannon Handley, and his brother Rodney (Bubba) Baker.

We will come together on Monday July 14, 2025, at 7:00 pm to celebrate his remarkable life, his laughter, his stories, and the boundless love he shared so freely. The address is Revive City Church 7200 Cariboo Rd, Burnaby, BC V3N 4A7

“Though you are no longer with us in body, you will forever live on in every laugh you sparked, every story you told, and every quiet moment in between. Until we meet again, you will remain forever in our hearts”

My sweet Baby Bear,

It still doesn’t feel real that you’re no longer here with me. You were my partner, my confidant, and my very best friend. Without you, everything feels unfamiliar, and I find myself lost in the quiet spaces where your laughter used to be.

There are no words that can truly express how deeply I miss you or how much my heart aches in your absence. Sometimes, I still find myself hoping you’ll walk through the door, smiling like you always did, and tell me you’ve come back. But even though I know you’re no longer in pain and have found peace, the longing doesn’t go away.

I hold on to the hope that one day, I’ll see you again. Until then, I’ll carry your love with me—always.

I love you, 48 forever. 💛
