Helen Westerberg (nee Persic) was born in 1953 in Croatia and moved to Canada with her parents when she was 5 years old. Life in Winnipeg was difficult and the family moved to Vancouver several years later. Helen graduated from Windsor Secondary and went on to UBC for a short stint, but came to a decision that life would be more purposeful to her if she entered the job marketplace and started on her career path. She started working at BC Tel as an operator and several years later became a manager where she spent better than 25 years honing her skills as a project manager before taking an early retirement. Helen enjoyed camping, boating, traveling abroad and spending time socializing at her cabin retreat on Keats Island. Sadly, she fell ill and suffered greatly in her final years. She is predeceased by her father John, her two younger brothers John and Robert, and her younger sister Pauline (Ina). She is survived by her mother Mira, her husband Gary and her son Myles & wife April. May her God find a place for her to have everlasting peace..
