It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Heather Louise McKechnie on February 14th, 2023, at the age of 74.
Heather is survived by her two children, Stacey (Kris), Chris (Lana), her loving grandchildren, Paige, Anderson and Jacob, her sister Carol, brother Sean (Judy) and many adoring nieces and nephews. Heather is predeceased by her husband Bob, brother David, sister Beth, mother Edna and father John.
Heather grew up in a big family in Ontario. Shortly after marrying, she was adventurous and took a risk moving her family to BC to build a new life. Her family was her rock. Heather loved to camp and fish. The annual family fishing trips to Loon Lake were deeply treasured. Heather was direct! She shot from the hip – always telling her truth while loving deeply. She had a great sense of humour, loved bantering and laughing. Heather was tough as nails – she had grit, yet she worried incessantly, especially about the welfare of her kids and grandkids. Her genuine love will be profoundly missed.
Eulogy and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 25th, 2023, at Heathers home at 11831 Gee Street, Maple Ridge.
Please arrive for 2pm.
