Write a TributeIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Van Dyke of Maple Ridge, BC.
George passed away with family by his side on February 11th, 2025 at Ridge Meadows Hospital due to heart failure at the age of 88. George is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Esperanza, their two daughters, Jennifer and Nancy and his two beloved grandchildren, Brooklynn and Tate.
George was a proud Dutchman; generous, kind, loyal and hardworking. He was a skilled landscaper who leaves behind many beautiful projects he worked on in the Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver area, but his most prized work was his award-winning rose garden that he loved to tend to with his wife.
George loved to putter around outside fixing anything he deemed to need improvement, helping friends in need, driving in his convertible, telling stories and showing photos of his grandchildren to everyone he met. His quick wit, ever-present smile, countless jokes and full body laughter will be greatly missed.

Precies een jaar geleden, papa. Er gaat geen dag voorbij of ik hoor je lachen. Ik weet dat je nu daarboven bij Tex bent. Jullie hebben de tijd van je leven. Ik mis jullie allebei meer dan wat dan ook en ik kan niet begrijpen waarom mijn twee meest geliefde mannen van me zijn weggenomen. Ik kan niet wachten om jullie allebei weer te zien. Jullie zullen voor altijd geliefd en enorm gemist worden. Maar ik weet dat jullie allebei op me neerkijken als mijn eeuwige engeltjes 💔😭🙏😭💔🙏

Not a day goes by that I miss and forever love you Daddy. I miss your hugs, our long talks, your contagious laugh, your smile and so much more. Your pain free now. And please know I think of you everyday
