With love and deep reflection, we share this tribute to George Olney, a man who brought light wherever he went. He was a free spirit, known for his sense of fun and his ability to turn any gathering into a celebration.

George was a genuinely happy person who rarely got upset. He had a kind heart and was always eager to help others; he would do almost anything for anyone in need. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved his family fiercely. He made an effort to be the cool dad that everyone wanted, always taking an interest in his children’s and grandchildren’s passions. Whether it was sports or hobbies, he was there to cheer them on or practice alongside them. His parenting style was gentle and understanding. He taught by example, never with anger, allowing us to learn from our mistakes and grow with confidence.

He loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with treats, toys, and an endless supply of affection. He always made it a point to say “love ya” to his children and grandchildren, and those words were always genuine, reflecting the deep love he held for his family.

His beloved wife carried so much of the family on her shoulders, and we honor her for the strength and dedication she gave every day. Together, they shared a life filled with highs and lows, but always with a deep bond that held them close.

George had a deep love for the outdoors and made camping a central part of his life and his children’s lives growing up. He cherished the simple joys of nature—campfires, fresh air, and star-filled skies. He leaves behind a legacy of love and the memories of countless adventures, from beach days, boating, camping and fishing trips, to family gatherings where he was always the life of the party and always wanted to be included. His laughter, his spirit, and his fierce love for his family will never be forgotten.

Though we miss him deeply, we will hold on to the lessons he taught us about living life to the fullest and embracing every moment. We will carry his light forward, remembering the ways he made us smile and the love he gave so freely.
