It is with deep sadness that the family of Gary Knight announce his sudden passing on February 11, 2021 in Vancouver BC. He was 54 years of age.
Left to mourn are his loving spouse Maryann Castillo, parents Frank and Katherine Knight, brother Dave (Gail), sisters Jane (Ron), Elizabeth (Graham) Carolyn (Warren), nieces Kelly(Steve), Victoria(Tylor), nephews Matthew(Olivia), Vincent, as well as a large circle of family and friends.
Gary was a loving son, brother and devoted spouse. He was born on July 17, 1966 in Botwood, Newfoundland and grew up in Fortune Harbour, his hometown that he dearly loved. He moved away at a young age and lived in Toronto and then settling in Vancouver where he happily lived with the love of his life Maryann.
Gary worked as a landscaper for 20 plus years and was a devoted friend and employee to Debbie Bromley his employer who he spoke of often.
He loved watching hockey and playing Proline and cheering for his favourite team, Toronto Maple Leafs, and hoped to one day see them win the cup.
Gary had a wonderful sense of humour and whenever you were with him he would put a smile on your face. Although he lived and worked in Vancouver his heart was always back home in Newfoundland and he would spend as much time as possible there each year.
Being around his family and friends is what gave him contentment and his adoring love for his parents (mom and dad) was always his priority. Rarely did a day go by that he didn’t call them for his daily chat, and to make sure they were ok.
He has left us with so many great memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever.
“ I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with my hands but I will feel you in my heart forever”
Fly high with the angels now , until we see you again.
Following COVID regulations a memorial service will take place in Newfoundland at a later date.

A Memorial Tree was ordered in memory of Gary Francis Knight by Ann Howe.
I'm shocked and saddened to hear about gary's death. We bonded together from the very start, when he arrived at my place to do garden work. We will never forget his smile!

To Garry family we were fishing buddies and great friends while growing up in Fortune Harbor. I remember playing ball on the hill daily and hanging out at the government Warf doing what kids do. Thanks for the friendship and memories of a great time growing up in the harbor. Fair Winds and following seas my friend. Until we meet again.
