With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother at 95 years of age.

We loved our Mother deeply and know that we are joined by family and friends in our grieving.  All who knew her were blessed by her kindness, sweet disposition and love for all people.

Florence was born in the hamlet of La Glace, Alberta to Ingeborg (nee Heimdal) and Ralph Johnson and was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.

She attended Big Horn School in La Glace followed by Grande Prairie High School.  Florence then moved to Peace River where she worked in the hospital as a Nurse's Aide.  In 1950 she moved to New Westminster, BC where she continued her career in healthcare which was a perfect fit for her compassionate nature.  She retired from the Royal Columbian Hospital in 1988.

It was in New Westminster where she met our father Harvey who had recently moved from Saskatchewan. They wed in 1952 followed by 5 children. Our family home was in Coquitlam, BC. The love of camping and visiting family and friends in BC and Alberta was a big part of our life.

Florence is predeceased by husband Harvey - 1995, son Ronald Frank (Valerie) - 2007, granddaughter Cari Lynn Lecky- 2012  and baby Dominic Patrick Davies - 2019.

She is survived by daughters Karen Rantala (Mike), Shelley Davies (Willy), Sonia Bolin and son Philip (Anne Marie).

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who all lit up her life!  Florence is also survived by her much younger brother Lloyd Alstad (Marti) and sister Bernice Penson (Charlie) who live in Alberta and they also lit up her life! They often talk of being in awe of her as children when she came from the city bearing gifts for them.

We want to thank the Doctors and all of the Staff at Maple Ridge Senior's Village for their kindness and care.

As per Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Our family will gather to honour our Mother's life at a later date.

I have known Flo since I was 6 we were neighbors. They spent many nights having fun with my parents. The day came when I jumped the fence and married her son Ron. From day 1 she was always mom. I was blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law never interfering or criticizing. She has been a wonderful part of my life and now she is with Harvey, Ron and Carrie. I will miss her dearly but am happy her suffering has come to an end. I cry and smile at the same time remembering memories we shared.
Love to all Val 💕♥️

Mom and I trying out selfies! This was taken the week she turned 95. Mom was up for adventures. "Mom, do you want to go on a Fall Leaves Cruise?" "Well I guess so dear." "When are you thinking of going?" "I am planning on booking today!" "Oh, okay dear." We had a wonderful trip together with many adventures along that journey. When Mom came from Vancouver to visit us in Red Deer, my sister Shelley cautioned her about not letting me wear her out! I threw lots of ideas out which most of the time were on very short notice! Her response was always was " Oh, ok dear." Lots of Memories to hold with Love in my Heart! Thank you Mom for being such a trouper!! 💖
