It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Grace Elliott (née Couldwell) on September 25th, 2025 in Maple Ridge, BC. Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gordon Elliott; daughters, Karen (Don) Harden and Diane (Steve) Comparelli; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike), David (Lauren), Joseph, Elliott, and Matthew (Carmen); and great grandchildren Hudson, Thomas, Cooper, Gordon, and Owen.

Evelyn was born in New Westminster, and lived most of her life in Coquitlam. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Paul’s School of Nursing in Vancouver. The following year in 1957, Evelyn married Gordon, the beginnings of the beautiful life they would build together. Shortly thereafter in 1959, they welcomed their first daughter, Karen, followed by their second daughter, Diane in 1961. Countless memories were had over the years that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Evelyn enjoyed knitting, reading, and doing puzzles in her spare time. She was an avid curler and bridge player who found great joy in both the game and the friendships it brought. She loved to entertain, and her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Known for her unforgettable appetizers and meals, she had a special way of bringing people together around the table.

Beyond her many talents, she will be most dearly remembered for her caring and loving spirit. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and special, and her kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, hospitality, and generosity will live on through her family.

Her request was that there be no service held. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada in Evelyn’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
