At the great age of 90, Doug passed away peacefully during his afternoon nap at home in Port Moody.
Doug was born in Port Burwell Ontario to Herbert and Vera Drew. The family moved to London, Ontario where he grew up with sister Patricia.
Doug was a proud graduate of the University of Western Ontario Businesses School where he was a Delta Upsilon Fraternity brother.
While at Western he was a celebrated athlete and was known as “Animal” on the Mustangs football offensive line. He famously played a championship game with a broken arm and brought home 2 Vanier Cups for the Mustangs.

Doug married his beautiful wife Jocelyn in 1956 and they welcomed 4 children.
Victoria (Tory) in Toronto, Matthew and Philip in Montreal, and Sarah in Calgary.
Doug’s varied career in the business and financial industry took the family from Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, New Jersey and Winnipeg.

At the age of 79 Doug moved to Port Moody, BC where he enjoyed his latter years playing bridge, walking, making new friends and spending time with his family.

Doug will be missed by his sister Patrica Dodson of Windsor Ontario, daughter Victoria (Tory) Keks, son-in-law and best friend Laird Keks of Port Moody, BC, son Matthew Drew (Nicole) of Toronto, daughter Sarah Higgins (John) of Toronto.
Doug was the beloved grandfather of Christopher Keks (Laura), Brandon Keks (Caitlin Dobie), Alexandra Keks (Brian McDonald), Katey Higgins, Haley Higgins, Bella Drew, Maddox Drew and great grandfather of Ben Hallet, Elly Keks, Jack Keks and Theo Keks.

Sadly, Doug was predeceased by his son Philip Drew in 2008. We are comforted in knowing that they are together again.

Doug celebrated his 90th birthday in November 2022 with family, friends and neighbours. He carried the love and good wishes with him to the end.

No service by request.
To honour Doug’s memory, go for a walk, eat lasagna for dinner while watching Hogans Heroes and listen to Burt Bacharach.
