Mrs J was always smiling and brightened up my day. She always made sure I was okay and on more than once gave me aheads up if I was going to get a reprimand so I was prepared. When I think back to my Burnaby days (1981-1992) I only have fond memories of Mrs J. Thanks for contributing to making Burnaby Detachment a nice place to work. Rest in peace Mrs J

Mrs. J was an absolute treasure. She was one of a kind and will be missed. I was so very fortunate to have been “one of her boys”.

I worked with Burnaby RCMP Traffic Division for 3 years in the mid 1970's and the first person I met when I arrived at Burnaby Detachment was the lovely Mrs. J. She was a very good hearted and lovely lady. She was always the go to person if anyone needed help, guidance or direction. She literally took all members under her wing.
She was a true gem of a lady. She will be missed.

I brought my two sons, Ryan and Jordan to the Detachment several times when they were 5 and 6 years old.
Mrs. J always and I sincerely say always, made time for them, making them feel special. This lady was more then a clerk or office manager, she was the best. RIP Mrs. J, you earned it.

Mrs. J & I met in 1976 when I started, as a City employee, at the Burnaby detachment. By early 1977 we had formed L & J Wise Words Inc. Every Thursday at the morning coffee break we shared words of wisdom with the other women around the table. We continued doing this until I left the detachment in 1983. Although I was no longer at that coffee table with Mrs. J we continued our close friendship right up until her passing. I read our old words of wisdom to her on every visit. I say my last ones today.
Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other gold.
A circle is round it has no end. That’s how long I’ll be your friend.
A fire burns bright, it warms the heart. We’ve been friends from the very start.
You have one hand, I have the other. Put them together and we have each other.
Silver is precious, gold is too. I am precious and so are you.❤️
I feel very blessed to have had my gold friend for so very long.

Met her I first started in Burnaby. We shared a birthday, and a nickname. Miss running into her in the Safeway parking lot where she would bring me up to date on what was happening with her “boys” and a few girls. RIP Mrs. J

We were the lucky ones to know her. She encouraged (along with Shirley Mitchell) me to date Mini and after we were transferred to Terrace, she still called us on our birthdays and anniversary every year until just recently. She held a lifetime subscription to my annual Christmas letter but didn’t receive one this year because I am very late and it’ll now be an Easter letter. Last year I was able to read it to her in person. She was a good friend who truly loved her Burnaby Traffic connections and has made it her live’s work to love and support everyone who walked through the traffic office of the Burnaby detachment. Thank you, Mrs J, for all the years of your friendship and love. May you now rest in peace. 🫶🏻

So sad to read this post. My late husband Mike truly adored her. She truly was like a second mother to those who worked with her.I remember Mike telling me she even kept a sewing kit in her office just in case someone needed a button sewn back on. Talk about a sweetie. After her retirement Mike and I would pick her up once a year and take her to lunch. She was always so happy to see us and wow how she glowed when talking of her days at the Burnaby detachment. She loved all you members. She will never be forgotten….

Mrs J was really the one in charge of Burnaby Traffic. She always remembered my family with Christmas cards each year. She was such a sweetie and loved by everyone. I will always remember her and was just thinking of visiting her a couple of days ago. She must have been an angel flying by in my thoughts.
