It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest Curtis. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, lover and friend.  Curtis had a knack for making people laugh, an appreciation for the beauty and peace he found when fishing or walking the beach, and a heart overflowing with love to share.

He is survived by his parents (Mervyn/Georgia, Beverley/Ken), his siblings (Perry/ Margaret, Sherri/Neil), as well as his nephews, nieces, great nephews/nieces and his loving girlfriend (Theresa).

Curtis was known to buy a meal or hot coffee for the homeless. He would offer his coat to those in need and take the time to talk to anyone who needed a friend. In keeping with Curtis’ compassionate heart and his love of helping people, we are asking anyone who would like to honour him to make an offering of time, talent or money to a person (or place) that needs a little extra help this winter.

May you rest in peace Curtis.  May the sun shine gently on your beautiful face and may your shoulders rest easy.  Keep on fishing!

Ah Curt, where to start? I’m so glad we got to see each other last time I was down.
You were one of the few that always checked in on me after my daughter Lexie passed away. I will be forever grateful for that, it meant so much to me, you were a soft shoulder to cry on.
They say everyone has an expiry date, it was hers and it was yours. If I didn’t believe that, not sure where I would be in life. Your kind words helped me through dark times. Love you very much my friend, until we meet again.

So much shock and sadness over the passing of Curtis.

We had just written each other the day before and he told me he was scheduled for some cardiac testing. This is such a tragedy to see someone so young gone.

I remember him as a funny, happy, and caring person. He was my brother and a friend.

Rest in Peace Curtis, and we will see you soon.

Curtis,
My bro, Mi Amigo, my family was your family. I know you knew how much you were loved, but you have no idea how greatly you’ll be missed. Forever indebted to you for the time you spent with Bill when Ma passed. Do me a favour… have a tilt with Spilly Billy and give Marilyne a big hug. Rest in peace my brother.

Curtis always made you know that the people in his life were important. Took time to send a message to see how your doing, and genuinely cared for people. His family and friends always knew how he felt...wore his heart on his sleeve. Rest easy Curtis. You will be missed.

Curt and I graduated together in 1989. Had many beers together over the years, golfing, boating, etc…
We always tried to meet up whenever I would come back to White Rock, unfortunately when I came back this past summer we never had a chance.
You will be missed and never forgotten, my friend.

Although I hadn’t seen Curtis in many years he was just one of those humans that left an impression on me. I knew him mostly from growing up playing hockey and just because White Rock was a much smaller place back then. I had the pleasure of working with Curtis at Ocean Park Pizza in the 80’s. He was always such a caring and hilarious guy. Facebook was really the only interaction we had in the last bunch of years but I always liked seeing how caring he was as it was evident in his posts.
Rest in Peace Curtis ❤️

Curtis and I graduated together from high school and although we ran in diffrent circles, he was always a friend. He treated everyone the same, with a smile, a friendly conversation and always a laugh. Over the years I'd see him from time to time in White Rock or South Surrey. He always took time to catch up, ask about what has going on in your life or how your family was. His passing was a complete shock to all us and he will always be dearly missed. RiP Curt.
