Anthony (Tony) Daniel Allen

Write a Tribute

Affectionately known as Tony and Tiger, passed away peacefully March 11, 2024 surrounded by his 3 beautiful children and his partner.

Tony left his home of Walthamstow, England when he was 23 years old. He quickly fell in love with Canada, making it his home and eventually settling in Maple Ridge, BC, the town and community surrounded by the nature he loved, where he raised his children.

Tony's kind, generous heart led him to help all those around him whether preparing meals to deliver to the homeless, repairing old bicycles to ensure all kids in the neighborhood had one, and always, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need.

His artistry and mastery of all he did was evident from his incredible carpentry skills, where he could fix and build anything, his love of cooking for others, and his ability to float on the dance floor where he'd spent years dancing twostep and east coast swing.

His passion and love for exploring the outdoors and the adventures it brings was unmatched, whether hiking in the mountains, bagging peaks, kayaking, wheeling his jeep, camping on snowy summits or chasing sun rise, moonrise and shooting stars.

His children, Ben, Will, and Grace were his legacy and mission in life. Tony was an active, loving dad who firmly believed in being home for his kids, feeding them well, exposing them to nature while camping under the stars or wheeling in his beloved jeep. There was nothing he wouldn't do for the 3 most important people in his life, always creating and building his life around them.

He was always up for an adventure whether creating fun experiences at home or savoring the outdoors of his beloved British Columbia.

With his partner, Desiree, he continued to feed his passion for epic outdoor adventures, summiting over 170 peaks, snow camping in the mountains, hiking, kayaking... always creating new experiences and striving to make her dreams come true.

He is survived and dearly missed by his 3 children, Ben, Will, Grace, his family in England including his sisters Maxine (Billy) Allen, Denise (Steve) Walker, many nephews and nieces, and his loving partner, Desiree Betz.

In lieu of flowers, please carry on his legacy of giving a helping hand, an act of kindness in his name and honor.
