Alan Dorohoy, born November 19, 1949, in New Westminster, BC, passed away surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life well lived. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Alan was predeceased by his parents, Wilma and Ollie Dorohoy. He is survived by his beloved partner, Linda Mackenzie; sons Ryan (Amanda) and Bryce; and stepdaughter Sherry. He was a fun and loving grandpa to Jacob, Bailey, Brayden, Emilie, and Adam, who all brought him immense pride. He shared many wonderful memories with his sisters, Cheryl (predeceased by her husband, Don) and Jeri (Bob).

Hockey was a defining part of Alan’s life. From his years of playing competitive, including 2 seasons with the New Westminster Royals, to many years spent coaching his children in hockey and baseball,  creating lasting memories and many friendships at the rink and ballpark. Road trips and tournaments were some of his sons’ favourite times to look back on. He could often be found standing at the rink, happily talking hockey with anyone willing to join the conversation. 

Alan also had a deep love for fishing and found his greatest happiness spending time on the lake with Linda. Whether with family, friends, or fellow sports fans, Alan’s stories and passion for what he loved left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering devotion and comfort for Linda, his easy conversations, and the joy he found in the simple moments of life.

Alan will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
