5 Simple Steps

A question often asked by loved ones experiencing a death is “What do we do now?” The following are the steps taken to complete the cremation process.

Contact Us

A Simple Cremation has a licensed funeral director on call 24 hours and day, 7 days a week. We can be contacted by phone at 604 809-2006 or by email at info@asimplecremation.ca or use one of the links on our website.

Completing the Necessary Paperwork

Before a cremation can take place the death needs to be registered with Vital Statistics and permits need to be obtained by A Simple Cremation. An appointment can be arranged to meet with one of our Funeral Directors in your home to gather the necessary information to complete the registration and have an Authorization for Cremation signed, or simply use the link on our website to download the forms for faxing or email.

Transferring the Decedent to the Crematorium

A Simple Cremation will confirm a doctor’s release from the hospital and transfer your loved one directly to the crematorium. In the event of a death occurring in a private residence, nursing home, hospice, or where there are no sheltering facilities, A Simple Cremation will perform the transfer as soon as possible.

Cremation

Once the necessary permits and signatures are in place the cremation will be done by one of A Simple Cremation’s cremation operators in a timely fashion.

Delivery of Urn and Death Certificate(s)

Upon completion of the cremation A Simple Cremation will contact you and schedule a time for delivery that is convenient for you. In most cases, the process is completed within 10 to 14 days.
